Jason McCoy, MSW, LCSW Jason McCoy joined the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in November of 2011. He received his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2009 with a focus on family centered practice. He uses a variety of techniques and approaches to empower clients to make lasting, positive changes in the “here and now” issues they face. Jason specializes in play therapy and family therapy as well as helping clients overcome issues in: ADHD, anger management, anxiety, couples/marital issues, depression, grief/loss, ODD, parenting issues, pre-marital, PTSD/ trauma, self-esteem, sexual abuse and spirituality. Sarah Bentz, M.A., LPC Sarah graduated with a Master’s Degree in Counseling in 2009 from Dallas Baptist University. Using a variety of techniques, Sarah focuses on the client’s current concerns and past experiences to guide clients to healing. Sarah leads clients into recognizing areas of negative thinking and behavior that hinders their lives and relationships. Sarah works with issues of couples/marital, child/adolescents, family counseling, depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma, parenting issues, pre-marital, blended family, ADHD, codependence, play therapy, activity therapy, grief, divorce, and crisis counseling. Sarah is certified as a Critical Incident Stress Management counselor and is certified to administer premarital and marital tests with the Prepare and Enrich Program. Sarah’s experience has been in private practice, crisis counseling, and parent education. Christina Jones, M.Ed., LPC Christina Jones graduated with her Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2007. Christina views the relationship between the client and therapist as an integral part of change. Using a variety of techniques and approaches, she helps the client find self-worth, and a balanced interpretation of their experiences and view of the world. Christina specializes in play and activity therapy. She also works with issues of couples/marital, child/adolescents, depression, anxiety, anger management, stress management, parenting issues, ADD/ADHD/ODD, women’s issues, grief, and divorce. Christina is also a certified Critical Incident Stress Management counselor. Nathan Futrell, MA, LPC-Intern Nathan Futrell joined The Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in early 2010. He graduated in 2009 with his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. Using a variety of techniques, he examines the influence of the client's family of origin on present functioning. Additionally, the client's thought processes and behaviors receive attention to address potentially irrational thoughts and self-defeating behaviors. In couples/marital counseling, this approach helps the individuals better understand how to love and relate to one another and identifies the unique needs and style of the couple. With both individual and couples counseling, certain books may be recommended to facilitate the counseling process. Nathan works with issues of sexual addiction and compulsivity/couples/marital, adolescents, family counseling, depression, anxiety, anger management, stress management, parenting issues, pre-marital, blended family, grief, divorce, and spirituality. Francine LaLande, MA, LPC-Intern Francine received her Master's of Education in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University in 2007. She believes that the healing process of counseling begins with clients being heard and sharing their stories. Francine uses a variety of counseling techniques in her work with clients. Those include brief solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy. Francine works with issues of couples/marital, child/adolescents, family counseling, depression, anxiety, anger management, stress management, parenting issues, blended family, women's issues, play therapy, activity therapy, grief, and divorce. Jennie Fincher, MS, LPC Jennie Fincher graduated with her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology in 2002. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has over 10 years of experience in administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological evaluations. She is currently providing evaluations for ADHD, learning disorders, intelligence testing, developmental disorders, advanced placement, and behavioral problems. Note: The State of Texas requires 3,000 hours of post graduate supervised experience to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. An LPC-Intern is continuing to work towards obtaining these hours and their licensure. All Interns within this office are supervised by Dr. Rhonda Johnson.
